As many of you may be aware, we love plants! Throughout the year there is always something happening, even in the very hottest of months. But Spring time is certainly the most exciting time for the wild blooms. All of these flowers have just popped up out of the hard clay and they truly do bring deep joy to the heart.
As I write today the rains have finally returned.. We have not had a drop since early February and we wondered when we would see it again! Most of what we have planted will be super happy with this down pour and it will be magical to see what happens next in the gardens.

We went for a walk in Rocha da Pena, one of our favourite places outside Ceratonia. I had heard about the wild Paeony that grows there a good few years ago and yesterday for the first time I found it! Very exciting and I just had to share her exquisite beauty. I have found a rare plants website that hopefully will send us some plants and we shall try to introduce Paeonia broteroi to Ceratonia.
